There are also weekly events, such as the local market in Fishguard Town Hall every Thursday, and Folk Nights featuring local musicians held on a Sunday in the Hope and Anchor in Goodwick and every Tuesday evening in the Royal Oak, Fishguard.

January

New Year’s Day Swim, 1st January, various locations. Get the New Year off to a flying start by taking part in a sea swim on the very first day. Locations include Poppit Sands, Goodwick Sands, Saundersfoot and Tenby and New Year’s Swims are held every year for those courageous enough to brave the waters!

February

Experience the Iron Age at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village, 16th February to 22nd February, 10am – 3pm. St David’s Day Festival, Fishguard. The town hall will be hosting a local market and tasty food is available all through town. There will also be live music. https://visitfishguard.co.uk/whats-on-in-2026/

St David’s Day Pilgrimage, hosted by St David’s Cathedral. The pilgrimages goes from St Non’s Well, with pilgrim prayers held at the shrine of St David. 11.15 am on the 1st March https://www.stdavidscathedral.org.uk/

 

April

Fishguard Arts Society: Sketch Together. Fortnightly trips (held on a Tuesday) out sketching with the Fishguard Arts Society. Sessions run outside from Easter until Autumn each year (with winter venues sometimes available) https://fishguardartssociety.org.uk/sketch-together-the-picture-so-far/

Medieval Battle of Goodwick Reenactment, May 17th 2026. Watch history come alive before your eyes at the anniversary of the Battle of Goodwick, first fought between Deheubarth and Gwynedd in 1078! June

Fishguard Triathlon,6th June 2026. An amazing event which attracted 1,000 participants in 2025, starts and ends on Goodwick sands and is a high-energy day testing participants against the coast and countryside of Pembrokeshire. https://www.activitywalesevents.com/events/tri/wales-triathlon

July

Abbagwaun Festival, 5th – 7th July 2026. A three-day weekend festival celebrating the 70’s! Events held all through Fishguard with live music, ABBA bingo, a parade and costume competitions. https://visitfishguard.co.uk/whats-on-in-2026/

Soap Box Derby, (Date TBC). An annual race through town at Lota Park hill by the brave designers and builders of these wonderful soap box carts! 

Last Invasion Of Britain Re-enactment, Fishguard, 18th-19th July 2026. 2026 marks the 229th anniversary of the Last Invasion of Mainland Britain by the French in 1797, and the Fishguard Invasion Centre Trust are putting on a weekend of re-enactment events to celebrate the date. https://lastinvasiontapestry.cymru/

The Cawl Crawl, 24th October 11am–4pm. Cawl is a traditional Pembrokeshire stew, originally made with mutton, but today there are various recipes to delight your palate. Fishguard New Year’s Eve Street Party, 31st December 2026. The famous street party, consistently ranked amongst the best New Year’s celebrations in the UK, will be celebrating its 27th year in 2026.
